1 · Get the client
CommunityMP is a modified OpenMW engine, not a mod you drop into OpenMW. It installs as its own program and you launch it instead of OpenMW — it sits happily beside a normal install and uses the same Morrowind files.
The installer is named OpenMW-0.52.0-Windows-x64.exe — that's
expected, it's the CommunityMP build of OpenMW 0.52. Use this build specifically: the server
rejects clients whose network protocol doesn't match.
You also need your own legitimate copy of Morrowind + Tribunal + Bloodmoon (Steam or GOG both fine). English or Russian editions only — the German and French releases have hardcoded translations and are rejected.
2 · Get Tamriel Rebuilt
Two downloads from
tamriel-rebuilt.org, both unpacked
into your Morrowind Data Files folder:
- Tamriel_Data — a dependency, not optional
- Tamriel Rebuilt — the mainland itself
Until we pin exact file versions, we should informally agree on the same Tamriel Rebuilt release. Ask before updating.
3 · Set your load order
The server enforces this list and this order. Anything missing, extra, or out of sequence and your join is refused.
- Morrowind.esm
- Tribunal.esm
- Bloodmoon.esm
- Tamriel_Data.esm
- TR_Mainland.esm
- TR_Factions.esp
You may also enable
Tamriel_Data.omwscripts and tamrielrebuilt.omwscripts — the 0.52
engine supports OpenMW Lua. They aren't part of the enforced list, so they neither help nor
hinder the handshake.
House rules
- Journals, faction rank and reputation are per-player, not shared.
- Don't grief. Moderation is by character name.
- This is a young engine fork we build ourselves. Expect rough edges, and say something when you find one — odd behaviour is useful information, not a nuisance.
